“Lives That Inspire: Read a Life • Discover a Lesson • Create Your Own Journey”

 

 

The Library, PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Pangode, conducted an engaging Biography Reading Activity to encourage students to explore the lives, achievements and contributions of inspiring personalities. Students selected biographies from the library collection and read about personalities such as Leonardo da Vinci, Stephen Hawking, Mother Teresa, Galileo Galilei, Christopher Columbus, Marco Polo, William Shakespeare, the Wright Brothers and other notable figures.

During the activity, students actively explored the biographies and reflected on five key questions: 

Who is the person? 

What is he/she famous for? 

What challenges did they face? 

What was their major achievement? 

What quality helped them succeed? 

Students recorded important information from their reading and discussed the values and life lessons they could learn from the personalities.

The activity provided students with an opportunity to move beyond simple reading and connect a person's life experiences with their own aspirations and choices. It promoted curiosity, perseverance, courage, creativity, determination and a positive attitude towards challenges. Students also developed their reading comprehension, information-gathering, critical-thinking, reflection and communication skills.

🎯 Learning Outcome

Students understood that biographies are not merely accounts of people's lives but sources of inspiration and life lessons. They learned how successful individuals overcame challenges through qualities such as perseverance, courage, curiosity and determination, inspiring them to reflect on their own goals and journeys.

✨ Conclusion

The activity successfully created an atmosphere of reading, reflection and inspiration in the library. Through the lives of remarkable personalities, students discovered that every great journey begins with curiosity, courage and a willingness to learn.
