🌍 WORLD POPULATION DAY 2026 CELEBRATION

On the occasion of World Population Day, the Library of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya Pangode organized a series of engaging and educational activities to create awareness among students about population, sustainable development, and responsible citizenship.

Students enthusiastically participated in the "Book Population Pie Chart" Activity, where they analyzed the composition of their reading habits by categorizing the books they had read into different genres and presenting the data through colourful pie charts. The activity successfully integrated mathematics, data interpretation, and reading promotion, encouraging students to reflect on their reading choices while understanding the importance of balanced learning.

A World Population Day Quiz was also conducted to enhance students' awareness of population-related issues, demographic trends, sustainable resource management, and global challenges. The quiz witnessed active participation, and the winners were felicitated for their excellent performance.

Thank You card to Doctors

Library Activity – "Thank You Card to Doctors" (Doctor's Day)

The "Thank You Card to Doctors" activity conducted in the library as part of Doctor's Day encouraged students to express gratitude and appreciation for doctors and healthcare professionals. Through this creative activity, students learned about the dedication, compassion, and selfless service of doctors in protecting and improving public health. The activity promoted Values of gratitude, empathy, and respect for medical professionals, Community awareness by recognizing the vital role doctors play in society.The library provided a platform where students combined knowledge with creativity, making Doctor's Day a meaningful learning experience. The beautifully designed cards reflected the students' heartfelt appreciation and reinforced the importance of acknowledging the dedication and sacrifices of healthcare heroes.

Doctor's Day Quiz Winners

PM Shri KV Pangode Library successfully conducted a “Doctor’s Day Quiz” on 2nd July 2026 to commemorate National Doctor’s Day and to honor the service of doctors in our society. 

The activity was organized as part of the Library’s Readership Programme and was aligned with NEP 2020’s focus on experiential learning and value education. A total of 184 students from Class 6 to 12 participated with great enthusiasm. 

The quiz aimed to create awareness about the medical profession and to instill respect and gratitude for healthcare workers.

“From Paper to Planet” Poster Making Competition

PM Shri KV Pangode Library successfully conducted a Poster Making Competition titled “From Paper to Planet” as part of the ongoing Readership Programme. The activity was aligned with Vanamahotsav celebration, NEP 2020’s focus on experiential learning and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption & SDG 13: Climate Action.

The Concept  

The theme beautifully showed a complete cycle: Tree → Paper → Book → Tree planted back.  

The core message: “We read on paper from trees, so we owe trees more trees.”  

The competition aimed to create awareness among students that every book they read begins with a tree, and it is our responsibility to give back to nature.

Event Details  

Over 60 students from Class 6 to 12 participated with great enthusiasm. Many posters depicted the journey cycle with creative slogans like “Read a Book, Plant a Tree” and “Every Page Deserves a Tree.”

 The event was conducted to emphasize that libraries must lead in promoting environmental responsibility.

Impact & NEP 2020 Link  

This activity connected reading with real-world responsibility. As per NEP 2020 Para 4.6, libraries are to become vibrant hubs for community awareness. “From Paper to Planet” helped students understand that reading and nature are interlinked.
